Seller Safety Tips

We care for our customers! We have developed a list of safety tips for our sellers to remain safe, when potential buyers are interested in your vehicle.

  • 1

    STAY AWAY FROM CASH TRANSACTIONS:

As much as the idea of a cash buyer will seem easy and hassle free, recent times have seen many cash buyer purchases ending up in robbery and even murder.

  • 2

NEVER ARRANGE A VIEWING AT YOUR HOME:

Always be sure to arrange viewings in a high traffic and public place. For example: in a busy Mall's car park, a police station or simply anywhere with a lot of people around.

  • 3

VERIFY MANAGERS CHEQUES BEFORE RELEASING YOUR VEHICLE:

Cheque fraud is very prevalent in Trinidad and Tobago! Do not fall victim. Ensure to call the issuing bank and verify the authenticity of managers cheques before releasing your vehicle to it's new owner.

  • 4

ASK FOR IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION BEFORE MEETING UP FOR VIEWINGS:

You are within your right! This gives you the seller, a first hand view of who is coming to view your vehicle, and significantly reduces the risk of falling prey any criminal element.

  • 5

ENSURE THAT A FAMILY MEMBER OR CLOSE FRIEND IS AWARE OF YOUR MEET UP ARRANGEMENTS:

You are even encouraged to have persons accompany you to the meet ups as there is safety in numbers.

Buyer Safety Tips

We care for our customers! If you are about to purchase any vehicle listed on our website, we have created a list of safety tips to keep you safe from any potential mishap.

  • 1

    STAY AWAY FROM CASH TRANSACTIONS

A common red flag in the industry is a seller looking for a quick sale or cash purchase only. Avoid this red flag by all means possible as it could be something malicious.

  • 2

always purchase your vehicle through a financial institution

Even though you may not need to take a loan for your purchase, as a safety measure, you're encouraged to ensure your purchase is done through facilities provided by your bank, eg. Managers Cheque or Online Banking Transfer. What this does is ensure there is a paper trail for your transaction. (Monies passed through a bank account).

  • 3

    always sign a sale agreement

A sale agreement is a legal document signed between the seller and buyer of a vehicle. It can be hand written or typed and should include details such as: Seller's name, Buyer's name, vehicle registration plate etc.

  • 4

arrange viewings in high traffic and public places

Before going to a viewing, make sure you are familiar with where you are going! Avoid meet ups in quiet, lonely and deserted places. Utilize busy Malls' car parks, police stations and typically very busy areas.

Follow these tips and increase your chances of ensuring a safe and successful purchase/sale of your vehicle!
